Two photo sets of the terrorist attacks

Two photo sets (one, two) by Alan Taylor at boston.com bring us closer to the carnage the terrorists unleashed.

And read this article (India Security Faulted as Survivors Tell of Terror) that pieces together a story from all the information currently received. It's an amazing story, far far better than anything else I've read.

There is a need to honour some of the silent heroes in these times. The unnamed lady at the Oberoi bar who herded people out, and later was found shot. The Taj and Oberoi staff who helped people get away. The people that resisted, the policemen that died, the onlookers who will get little more than a mention. They have families, parents, children and friends. We owe them their sacrifice, and we must acknowledge it.

Deepak thanks for the link. Even with those childish TV news channels and their marathon reporting, havent known such detailed information till I finished the article from The Wall Street Journal.

Instead of normal citizens I wished all B$%^%^d the politicians should have died!

And moreover it hurts to know that Pakistani people have so much concern for the Indian muslims treatment in India. With due respect to the PM's chair but one bullet should have fire thru his ass. Just wipe out the country then there will be no problems nor terrorist attacks.

And on top of this treatment of common citizen by these so called police force, these bastards have never practised 'open fire' in decades but ask those raskals if they know how to make money thru bribes and harass clean citizen and encourage prosper black market.

And I am sure those bastards like these must have ran away from the attack places and those who became martyr must be the genuine one's.

Now in the name of increased security these assholes will harass general public and make more money while after 10 days they will make money from taking bribes from black market.

Its burns inside.

It sickens me to read all the ranting that goes around in the name of patriotism.

Innumerbale forwards and blogposts that seem to run amuck suggesting shooting down politicians to bombing pakistans.

Incidentally some ppl died in the train blast in Assam. Does anybody remember of create forwards on that or light candles. There is no diginity for a human life in this country. Countless die in road accidents, floods, riots etc and we dont bother. Chalta hein. So why the ranting bcos some rich guys died or that we seem to have found targets to blame.

Like the politicians and the bureacrats we love to shift the blame on someone else. How much are we willing to take responsibility of our actions.

How patient are we when the security guard screens us at the airport. Do we blink a eye when we go to Alfa or Heera Panna or any of those smuggled good market and buy knowing that the profits will go into undermining our national security.

Are we willing to accept that we are fault when a traffic policeman stops us and accept his authority. We all love to beat the system whether driving when we are drunk or not paying our taxes. Our politicians are what we deserve. They come thru us and reflect us.

It is very easy to have a holier that thou atittude and shift the blame on somebody else.

The time has come for a revolution but a revolution in us in our own civic responsibility.

I agree totally to what Siddharth has written, Politicians reflect the masses. We are getting what we deserve

Anonymous,
I believe in bullet for bullet, if you are gandhivaadi then its your view of everything. not for me. Wished if Subhashchanda Bose would not have sidelined by so called congressmen that time, I doubt whether you would have seen todays situation. Its a different issue altogether.

I do not doubt on what you say about value of human life in India. Agree completely. chalta hain, also has certain limits. just like a rubber band it will keep on stretching beyond your imagined limits and keeps on surprising about its resilience. But neverthemore its time comes, one day. And it gives up.

Airport security is a joke. The staff working seems to be more of arrogant and will try their best to put the passengers in inconvinience. Power is corruption uless there is sever punishment for abuse of the power. In conclusion the rules are just used against the pasengers.

Secondly you say traffic police are very innocent in collecting bribes? clap doesnt happens from one hand, I agree. But whenever the olice stops you is not for your safety but for bribe. They have their monthly targets of Hafta. why not stand before a no entry sign to avoid people going in rather stand at the other side and make money?
